Answer on Copper Peptides
Hi Joella, Copper peptides are old news...not "all the rage" although Dr. Pickart is probably pushing his new peptide (I don't think it is proven). I think they are over-rated as far as effectiveness goes but I obviously believe GHK works. As far as dosing goes, there are several factors that go into the manufacturing of GHK. My first batch had "100 times more" GHK but it was not more effective because of the way it was made and how they measured the quantities. I am now using a potent, highly purified version so I can use much less. I read Pickart's stuff once and was surprised how he bad-mouthed GHK (he patented it 15 years ago) saying it was not stable enough. I think the Vitamin C can oxidize the copper so using Essence separately helps and 20 minutes in between may help more. The take-home is that the ingredients I am using besides GHK are much more effective at creating change. Cosmedix uses copper gluconate. I used think it was as effective until I read into GHK and the fact that it is the GHK-Cu that is found in wounds...GHK being the carrier that gets it to the right place. Copper on its own may help but not like GHK-copper. Emu oil may help penetration a little (10-30%), not like the effects of PC (1000%).
